After a brief debate in class about what to debate, I thought we’d start off with a nice, not-too-controversial topic – we can move on to more weighty issues later in the year!
So here we go:
Summer is the best season of the year.
What do you think? Remember to justify your opinions…….
Ok, so it looks like a tie between summer and winter then. Time for a new topic for debate…………
In Debating Club yesterday, the motion was put that; “It is better to be an adult than a child.” There were some very interesting arguments on either side, and some pupils had to argue for an opinion they didn’t agree with themselves.
What do you think…………..?
I don’t go to Debating Club but I think that children have more fun than adults. Children are aloud on a lot of rides, and adults have to go to work and pay the bills, etc. I do think adults have a lot of fun too though.
I think being a child is more fun because you can do what ever you want and you have more energy 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
NO I do not think it is fair for animals to be test subjects! [:(
WELL, MR CAIN! You should see what summer here is like! People SLEEP in the afternoon just because its so hot, and we have fans pretty much everywhere so I’m not too fond of summer here in other places like Scotland I’m ok with summer, I mean I can stand the heat there and it’s a perfect time to go to the beach! So, over all summer for me is in the middle! My favourite season is Winter because I can wrap up in warm, comfy clothes 😀 😀 😀

I think summer is the best season because you get such a long holiday and its the sort of time that you go to the beach. It’s nice to be hearing from you, Dolly, can’t wait till you get back. I can tell you it feels really weird being a P7. Can’t wait to hear about what you’ve been doing in Gaza.

HELLO DOLLY!! Hope u come back soon to Scotland!! Yes, I agree!!! I think Summer is the best season because its sunny and you get to have a LONG holiday and enjoy the lovely weather. I like to have barbecues, go on the trampoline and have fun with friends. I definitely feel that summer is the best. But also, I do like winter because of the snow and you get to go sledging but Summer is defo better. 🙂 😉 😀 WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK?!?!?!
Well as i said i think WINTER is the best! I just think its so lovely and cosy, It’s just a really nice month! 🙂

i like summer because you could go outside and enjoy the fresh air and winter because of the snow which we get in march
you can also go out in winter calum… especially in the snow!

Well Mr. Cain, I guess adults have fun when their children do 😀
Firstly, I think summer is the best season because in winter people just stay inside and do nothing while in summer it’s hot, school is off so you get to go on holiday, I think being a child is better than being a adult because you get more opportunities and you have more fun!
Well… I think that… Actually… No one can answer that apart from adults! We don’t KNOW about being an adult, I admit it sounds like fun but we will soon find out. Being a child is fun, it won’t last forever so i don’t actually think about it. I will have to conclude with… CHILD! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I agree with Lottie, I don’t know yet, but being a child is fun, but that isn’t to say that being an adult won’t be fun! I guess as an adult you may have alot of fun if you get to do what you want through work!

I really don’t know what is the best season winter or summer! I prefer summer because my birthday is in the summer but in the winter we can make snow angels!! its really hard to choose 🙂
I prefer winter to summer as I don’t like the heat (which is good since we never really get any hot weather during summer)! But I also like summer as you can spend time outside with your friends!
i don’t think ur getting this… you CAN go outside in the winter with or with out friends. i isn’t just summer
Summer and winter are both great!!! Because in summer you get ice lollies and summer hols, but winter is good as you get hot chocolate and you can build snowmen!!!!! So I guess I’m a bit of both???? 😉
No one should ever test things on animals because its ANIMAL ABUSE! But we don’t want to do it to ourselves… We could do it to midgeys? But that’s still bad…(sigh) I don’t know at all!
If we wouldn’t test products on ourselves, we shouldn’t test products on animals as it would be pretty much against the law to test products on a human as some people would class it as abuse, so it should be the same rule for animals too! 😦
EXACTLY lucy i think it’s really unfair to test things on humans SAME RULES FOR ANIMALS TOO!

picture this… u have a pet then 1day u fid out that ur pet is being experimented on. how would u feel. and if this is going 2 carry on can i just say if it affects the animal it dosen’t mean it ( the product ) will affect us. same way vice-verca so why experiment on them!!!

no i don’t really think it’s fair to test products on animals because if it kills them some people might not like it and some people might be ok with it or they just don’t care about the animals being tested on!

Yes, I think we need a new debate! I quite like debating 🙂
Maybe we should try testing products on ill humans, like cancer medicine… Use it on a cancer patient and there could be a negative and a positive.. Positive: If it works, patient is CURED!!! Negative: They die, or get worse, that might stop the suffering though. That could be a good thing. It could be a win-win and it could STOP the debate! Also… See how I used the colon? First time i’ve used it correctly to be honest 😛 Could be wrong though, that would be embarrasing… Uh oh……………………………………………………………. Lottie 🙂
no lottie don’t be embarresed. that is actually a really good suggestion!
I think Lottie’s idea is great! If we test it on very ill people it would be ok either way: 1. they are CURED! 2. they die R.I.P. I think number 2 is ok because they would go to a better place and they wouldn’t have to suffer any more!
