Great first day today! So far some of the groups have taken part in team problem solving, archery and raft building! Lots of tired children now heading off to bed!
On Wednesday the p7s went to Safe Highlanders at Cameron Barracks. We all were put in groups and there were 7 groups. We learnt about : E safety, road safety, construction site safety and many more. When my group learnt about road safety a police man said to pick a place were feel safe and then move out the way still in the same place, The police man put a dummy out and a car ran into it and the police man said that would have been you if you had your headphones in even if one was out and that would be you that got hit by the car. When my group learnt about life saving I was asked to lie on a bit of blue paper and act like it was water. the man told us how to save someone from drowning – DON’T jump in! He said call a number and try to keep them talking about simple things and much more, and thats what the p7s learnt at Safe Highlanders!!
A very busy day today – so unfortunately P7 haven’t written a weekly update. 100 House points available to the first P7 to submit a review of what we’ve done this week!
Our first week back at P7 has been very exciting! We have been talking about our P7 residential trip to Craggan Outdoors near Grantown on Spey, where we will be staying for 4 nights in a bunkhouse and a Bothy. We will be learning skills such as how to survive in the woods (with no phones or electronics) by building a logtent, how to canoe, how to start a fire (purposely), how to kayak and how to wash the dishes (which will be a challenge for some!)
We have also been starting to organise our summer fayre which this year is on the 24th of May. We have been deciding the events such as, gungeing, ice cream and waffle stall, jar stall and more suprises to see at the fayre! The fayre is going to take up a lot of our time but it will certainly be the best yet!
This week we have also moved tables and decided new table names;
