On Wednesday 23rd October, P7 went to Fairburn Activity Centre with Drakies and Raigmore. The whole purpose of the day was to make new friends for Milburn. It was full of fun outdoor activities. Fairburn is near Muir of Ord…
The bus journey was really exciting because I couldn’t wait to have fun. When we got there we found our group. Lauren, Lucy, Lewis (from M.O.L) Tanya, Fiona, Sarah, Hamish, Connor (from Drakies) Caitlyn, Ciara and Shannon (from Raigmore) and ME!! Our first activity was Disc golf, which is having a disc and hitting it at the tree with the number, which also includes putting it through nets and hoops. It was an exciting sport but the only thing was the weather, it was rainy, cold and wet but except from that it was quite exciting.
The next activity was Orienteering which was great fun. What we had to was get into teams of three (Me,Lucy and Lauren) Our first map was Map 1 which was easier than the next map which was Map 11 (because the maps were random) Map 11 was right in the middle of the trees and beside a private garden but there was so many private gardens. It took us ages to find that one but eventually we found it! Map 3 was at the corner of the building on a tree on mud.
LUNCH!!!!!!!! Lunch was a little akward because we didn’t know what to say to each other but when their friends came it was a lot easier.
Tree climbing was the last activity but also A LOT higher than the skydive at Landmark. Everybody was so encouraging but I didn’t get very far only to the second branch. Only 3 from Drakies got all the way to the top! The instructor put a harness and a helmet on us, then we waited for our number to be called and then it was our turn. It was Great fun!!!!!
So that brought us to the end of our trip to Fairburn and I, personally think I made new friends. I can’t wait for our next transition day. Overall, I think everyone had a great day!!!!!
